Many museums and other attractions in London do cater for disabled visitors and some newer buses and Underground stations are easy to access, whereas some others may be a little more difficult. The organisations listed below offer advice and detailed information about how the disabled visitor can make the most of this great city.

DAIL produces a monthly arts magazine with articles, reviews and listings of particular interest to the disabled. Voluntary subscription for one year is £10. DAIL is part of the LDAF, see below.

The voluntary organisation GLAD provides information for disabled visitors and Londoners alike. GLAD produces the fortnightly Update, which publishes relevant extracts from British newspapers and magazines, and the monthly London Disability News.

London Transport's Unit for Disabled Travellers gives specific advice on the user-friendliness of public transport in London. They also publish the guide Access to the Underground which you can order in advance by writing to them, using the address above. Information about buses and Braille maps is also available.
