LONDON - Business Hours

Museums & Attractions
Museums and other attractions are usually open from Tuesday to Sunday or from Monday to Saturday. Many of them open at 10.00 and close at 18.00, but times may vary considerably. Almost all museums and attractions will close on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, but many are likely to stay open on other Public Holidays.

Offices & Shops

Most offices are open Monday to Friday from 9.00-9.30 to 17.00-17.30. Roughly the same hours apply for shops, which normally also are open on Saturday from about 10.00-12.00 to 18.00-19.00. Some shops, especially those around Oxford Street, are open on Sunday too. Shops in the West End stay open later on Thursday night, to about 20.00.

Banks
Banks are open Monday to Friday from about 9.30 to 15.30. If you can, try to avoid going there at lunchtime, which is the busiest time of the day. Some banks are also open on Saturday, but may then close a little earlier than in the week.

Post Offices
Most post offices are open Monday to Friday from 8.30-9.00 to 17.00-17.30. Many stay open on Saturday, but are then likely to close after lunchtime.
